Ursula L. Sulewski, 90 of Temperance, MI, died Friday, February 07, 2014 in her home. Born November 29, 1923 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Carl and Nettie (Sniegowski) Lawecki. A 1941 graduate of the former Lambertville High School, she married Frank Sulewski on Oct. 7, 1943. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2001. Ursula had been employed by Airway Electric during WWII , Vrooman Foods, Petries, Mary Anns and Secor Finishing. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Temperance and TAPS (Toledo Area Polka Society). Ursula enjoyed bird watching, fishing, polka dancing, putting puzzles together, Saturday shopping with her daughter, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, Barbara Gardner of Roscommon, MI, Gregory (Kathy) Sulewski of Ottawa Lake, MI and Darlene (Robert Dean) Szymanski of Temperance, MI. 6 grandchildren, Christa Willoughby, Bryan (Dorothy) Willoughby, Jenifer (Gustave) LaRoy, Kathrine (Drew) Lesko, Danielle, Jessie Szymanski. 9 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Tyler, Mason, Whitney, Mallory, Daphney, Brian, Nicholas, and David. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Monday, February 10, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a scripture service will be held Monday at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4605 St. Anthony Rd., Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Promedica Hospice or St. Anthony Catholic Church. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
